City firefighters responded at 2:33 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, to a report of a vehicle fire on Sanders Street. According to the report, when crews arrived, they found a motor vehicle accident with a vehicle with steam coming from under the hood. Crews disconnected the battery and waited for the vehicle to cool down before clearing scene.

City firefighters responded at 12:59 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, to a report of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 53 and Shelby Road. According to the report, firefighters discovered an accident with no injuries. Crews cleaned the roadway and cleared the scene.
Ronald Joseph Wilson, 26, of Naylor was arrested and released on his own recognizance at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 4, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center on a warrant for stealing.

Christopher G. Depew, 41, of Malden was arrested at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, at Academy Sports+Outdoors on an outstanding warrant from Malden for expired registration. Officers were called to the business concerning a customer who had been concealing items on his person. Police made contact with Depew in the bathroom, where several knives from the business were discovered on him. Depew was booked at the Butler County jail.
