Delbert Withrow, 73, of Puxico, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021 at General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Missouri. Delbert was born January 23, 1948 to James ‘Dobie’ and Wantona ‘Toni’ Spencer Withrow in Poplar Bluff. He and Johnnie McCain were married July 29, 1974. She survives...

Delbert Withrow, 73, of Puxico, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021 at General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Missouri.

Delbert was born January 23, 1948 to James ‘Dobie’ and Wantona ‘Toni’ Spencer Withrow in Poplar Bluff. He and Johnnie McCain were married July 29, 1974. She survives.

Delbert joined the United States Air Force January 27, 1967 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was honorably discharged October 30, 1970. Delbert was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal July 31, 1969 for his distinguished service as a Sentry Dog Handler and his outstanding service for the 56th Security Police Squadron Sentry Dog Program.

Delbert was a life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1056 as well as a member of several Eagles Lodges in the Southeast Missouri area.

Delbert enjoyed fishing, karaoke and playing pool. In his younger years he enjoyed riding motorcycles. He was also a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.

In addition to his wife, Delbert is survived by two sons, Jeremy (Linda) Withrow and John (Amber) Withrow, both of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Tobin, Rylah and Rogan, all of Cape Girardeau; four sisters, Jeanette (Bardis) Dismuke of Poplar Bluff, Delores (Frank) Reno of Poplar Bluff, Tammy (David) Davis of Harviell and Tracie (Ryan) Deschamp of Poplar Bluff and two brothers, Mark Withrow of Vincent, Alabama and Teddy Dewayne Luttrell of Poplar Bluff.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 11 from 11 a.m. - noon at Cotrell Funeral Service. Funeral Service will follow at noon at the funeral home with John Barker, long-time family friend, officiating.

Burial will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield at 2 p.m. with full military honors.
