Gunner Anthony Davidson, 21, of 1800 block of north 14th street, was arrested at 7:53 a.m. Friday, April 16, on suspicion of possession of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid of 10 grams or less-prior drug offense, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia - amphetamine or methamphetamine and a failure to appear warrant for stealing.

Burnett/Null’s vehicle struck a utility pole in the intersection of Alice and Bearden. She was treated at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center prior to being booked into the Butler County jail.

Terry Wayne Johnson, 51, of 2000 block of Thomas street was arrested at 11.38 p.m. Saturday, April 17. Butler County Officer Taylor Tinsley initiated a traffic stop near northwest Outer Road and Highway 67. Johnson was arrested on suspicion of possession with intention of delivery of a controlled substance except 36 grams or less of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid. He was booked into the Butler County jail.

Poplar Bluff firefighters responded at 10:15 a.m. Friday, April 16, the Poplar Bluff Junior High School, where one of the students pulled an alarm. Firefighters were back in service at 10:27 a.m.

POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT

Poplar Bluff firefighters responded at 6:39 p.m. Friday, April 16, to 1518 S. Broadway to a reported vehicle accident. The vehicle was gone when they arrived.

Poplar Bluff firefighters responded at 8:54 p.m. Friday, April 16, to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Thomas and Midland streets. A truck had run into the ditch.

Poplar Bluff firefighters responded at 7.48 a.m. Sunday, April 18, to a report of heavy smoke in the area of 11th and Pine streets. They located an unauthorized burn in the rear of 1125 Kinzer street. They allowed the resident to put out the fire and advised him of the city’s burn ordinance.

Poplar Bluff firefighters responded at 9:01 a.m. Sunday, April 18, to10 Box, 1301 Shelby Road, to smoke in an inside locked room. Upon arrival, everyone was out of the room in which the lights were still smoldering and the room still had some trapped smoke. They extinguished the smoking lights and turned off the breaker. They used a thermal imaging camera to look for fire that might have spread. All looked clear and an electrician was called.

Poplar Bluff firefighters responded at 9:56 a.m. Sunday, April 18, to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at Bearden Road and Alice Street. The single vehicle struck the pole at approximately six feet off the ground. Municipal Utilities responded and the vehicle was removed by a wrecker.

Poplar Bluff firefighters responded at 2:39 p.m. Sunday, April 18, to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries on Roxie Road between Shelby Road and Maud Street. The single vehicle struck a power pole, breaking it, with the pole and lines laying in the roadway. Firefighters stayed on the scene until Municipal Utilities responded and the vehicle was removed by a wrecker.

Poplar Bluff firefighters responded at 4:24 p.m. Sunday, April 18, to 400 North B and Gum streets, where a pile of trash and demolition debris was burning behind an old shed. Firefighters used 200 gallons of water to extinguish the fire.
