Gloria Ellen Copeland, daughter of the late Henry Bacon and Norine (Aubuchon) Bacon was born August 5, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri and departed this life on April 1, 2021 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She had attained the age of seventy-three years, seven months and twenty-seven days.
She had lived in Ellsinore for the past fifty years and was formerly of Dallas, Texas. She was Ellsinore Branch Librarian for the Carter County Library system for over thirty years and served the community for that length of time. She was of the Christian faith and attended the Church of Christ Church in Van Buren, Missouri. She enjoyed light flower gardening, crafts and spending time with her family. She loved sending and receiving birthday and Christmas cards. Gloria loved her family and doing things for them.
On August 24, 1968, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, J. Wayne Copeland in Ellsinore, Missouri.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Wayne Copeland of Ellsinore; two sons, Jarrod Copeland and wife Luisa, of St. Charles, Missouri and Matthew Copeland of Ellsinore; two daughters, Amanda Oliver of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Alison Brown of Chaffee, Missouri; brother, Forrest Bacon and wife, Maggie of Brownsburg, Indiana; four grandchildren, Logan Copeland, Lauren Copeland, Dillan Mosley and Jason Mosley and many family and friends who mourn her passing.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 5 at 11 a.m. in the McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellsinore with the funeral services following at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Robert Burlbaugh and Jeff Martin will be officiating. Burial will be in the Yount Memorial Cemetery in Garwood, Missouri.
