POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT

Feather Leona Beauford, 44, of the 300 block of West Relief Street, was arrested in Greenville Thursday, April 1, on a failure to appear warrant for misdemeanor assault.

Kendall Corey Collins, 52, of the 800 block of Foley Street was arrested Thursday, April 1, on failure to appear warrants from Crawford and Dent counties for driving while revoked/suspended.

Kenneth Leroy Allen, 51, of the 1000 block of Kinzer was arrested Thursday, April 1, on failure to appear warrants for stealing, forgery, possession of controlled substance, first degree property damage and second degree attempted burglary.

POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT

Poplar Bluff firefighters responded at 11:09 a.m. Thursday, April 1, to a fire in a wall at the Reef Shop at 207 S. Fifth St.

Firefighters removed the sheetrock from the wall and used a booster line to extinguish the fire with 20 gallons of water. Firefighters believe one of the outlets overloaded and shorted out, causing the fire. While the fire was contained on the original floor, light smoke went to the second and third floors of the building. Doors and windows were opened to clear the smoke.

The gas lines were turned off, and an electrician was contacted to isolate the affected area so power could be restored. Firefighters cleared the scene at 12:08 p.m.

Firefighters responded at 1:06 p.m. Thursday, April 1, to 2806 Wayne to a hallway smoke detector alarm.

James Sinks told firefighters steam from the shower had triggered the detector outside the bathroom. Firefighters cleared the scene at 1:16 p.m.

Butler County firefighters responded to a grass fire at 8:24 p.m. Thursday, April 1, on Highway 160.

Butler County firefighters responded to downed power lines at 458 Highway 142, where a spray rig had pulled lines down.
