City firefighters responded at 6:38 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, to call for assistance at 3100 Kennedy Lane. According to the report, a man had fallen and could not get up. Firefighters and EMS assisted.

City firefighters responded at 3:01 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, to a report of an alarm at the Poplar Bluff Early Childhood Center at 1200 Camp Road. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the alarm sounded due to maintenance workers spraying paint.

City firefighters responded at 12:28 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, to a report of an alarm at 445 N. Second St. According to the report, firefighters found the odor of smoke on the ground floor, which was caused by burnt food. Firefighters used positive-pressure ventilation to ventilate the hallway.

Reed, 27, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 2:07 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, in Wayne County on suspicion of felony introduction of contraband into a correctional facility, felony possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), a Butler County warrant for failure to appear, failure to register a motor vehicle, no insurance, driving without a license and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked at the Wayne County jail on a 24-hour hold.
