City firefighters responded at 12:28 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, to a report of an alarm at 445 N. Second St. According to the report, firefighters found the odor of smoke on the ground floor, which was caused by burnt food. Firefighters used positive-pressure ventilation to ventilate the hallway.

POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT

Dakota A. Dushuanack, 24, of the 100 block of Lexington Street was arrested at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, on suspicion of failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, failure to stop at a stop sign, no financial responsibility, no state license plates, possession of marijuana or a synthetic cannabinoid and possession of drug paraphernalia

Pennington, 65, of the 1800 block of Thomas Street and the 700 block of Price Street, was arrested at 1:53 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, on warrants for operating a vehicle without a valid license and felony possession of a controlled substance, and on suspicion of possession of marijuana or a synthetic cannabinoid.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

Jessica N. Reed, 27, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 2:07 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, in Wayne County on suspicion of felony introduction of contraband into a correctional facility, felony possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), a Butler County warrant for failure to appear, failure to register a motor vehicle, no insurance, driving without a license and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked at the Wayne County jail on a 24-hour hold.
