Bobby Lee Muse, age 79, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, died Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at his residence surrounded by family. Mr. Muse was born August 29, 1941 in Kennett, Missouri, son of the late Walter and Leona Muse.

Mr. Muse loved fishing and gardening. He especially enjoyed his family. He was formerly the chief of police in Desloge, Missouri. He was a member of New Home General Baptist Church for 38 years where he served as a deacon and was known as “the hugging door greeter.” He was an avid soul winner for the Lord. On June 18, 1960 he married Joyce Tole. She survives.

Also surviving are five children, Vicki (Darryl) French of Poplar Bluff, Carol Muse of Poplar Bluff, Dena (Scott) Rawson of Nixa, Missouri, Robbie (Allison) Muse of Harviell, Missouri and Nalynn (Craig) Hillis, of Qulin, Missouri; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; a very special brother-in-law, David (Debbie) Tole and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Bobby Gene Muse; three brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, March 26 at New Home General Baptist Church, Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Rev. Justin Benefiel officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
