__POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT__
Firefighters responded to a call about an unauthorized burn at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, at 501 Marion. Upon arrival, they told the occupant, Thomas Conner, about the city’s burn ordinance and he put out the fire with a garden hose.
At 4:50 p.m., firefighters were called back to the residence when the fire rekindled. They used 20 gallons of water to put it out.

Firefighters responded at 3:23 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, to a call for assistance by EMS personnel. They assisted in loading a patient.

Firefighters responded at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, to a motor vehicle accident on West Pine Street. They used 10 gallons of water to clean up transmission fluid in the roadway.

Firefighters responded at 12:14 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, to a motor vehicle accident on North Westwood Boulevard. They used 10 gallons of water to clean up fluids off the roadway.

Trevor W. Crook, 24, of the 1700 block of Garfield was arrested at 11:28 am Monday, March 22, on a parole violation warrant. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Bruce L. Cole, 39, of Qulin was booked Tuesday, March 23, at the Butler County jail on two failure to appear warrants for driving while revoked and not maintaining financial responsibility.

Ashley Sawyer, 19, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 12:23 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, on suspicion of DWI and driving without a valid license. She was released.

Makenna N. Kassing, 18, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 12:12 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, on suspicion of DWI, possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, and no insurance. She was released.

Malik L. Perkins, 26, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 10:28 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (marijuana, more than 35 grams), unlawful use of a weapon, and no headlight. He was booked at the Butler County jail on a 24-hour hold.
