Poplar Bluff City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, March 15, in the city council chambers, 301 S. Fifth St.
Workshop items include:
• a request from Spire Missouri Inc. to place a cathodic well attached to their gas line that will be located at the intersection of Roxie Road and Shelby Drive.
• a request for renewal of a franchise agreement with Spire Missouri Inc. to operate a natural gas distribution plant and system within the City of Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
• review bids for the sale of city property located near the Shelby Road and Roxie Road intersection.
• review a proposal for the Show-Me Clean Energy District program.
• discuss the status of the Poplar Bluff Public Library building.
Action required items:
• Ordinance designating and adopting the “Downtown Poplar Bluff Entertainment District” and open cup ordinance.
• Annual net metering report and disclosure for the Municipal Utilities Department.
• Amendment to Chapter 205.480, 500, 510, 520, 530 and 560 Animal Control regarding fees and licensing.
• Location and placement of a historical monument on city-owned property located at 303 Moran Street.
A closed session is also planned.
Parks and Recreation
Poplar Bluff Parks and Recreation Board will meet at 5 p.m. Monday, March 15, at the Black River Coliseum.
Tree Advisory Board
The Tree Advisory Board will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, in the city council chamber.
The Tree Advisory Board will review an application relative to the Tree City U.S.A. program and will discuss tree planting at the Early Childhood and kindergarten centers.
Building Standards
The Poplar Bluff Building Standards Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, in the city council chambers.
The board will have compliance hearing under new business on 928 Hickory, 832 Fairmont, 1521 Coolidge and 830 Cherry.
Unfinished business on compliance hearings will be on 1709 Saxon, 1050 Cole, 1806 Wilson, 807 Lester and 515 Victor.
Plumbing board
Poplar Bluff Plumbing Board meeting will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 18, at the city council chambers.
Unfinished business will be the approve sewer materials.

The following advisory boards have been cancelled for next week: Municipal Utilities; animal control; and Board of Adjustment.
