Shekeena M. Liam was issued a summons to appear in court March 25 on suspicion of stealing items from TanNTime at 124 10th Street about 6:44 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25. According to the report, an employee allegedly witnessed Liam place items under her coat, grab two sweaters and exit the business. She was detained by another employee outside.

John Thomas Burke, 36, of the 500 block of North 6th Street, was arrested 2:29 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26 on a failure to appear warrant. He was booked at Butler County jail.

Tara Miller, 31, of Route 61, reported at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, she noticed that two of her vehicle tires were damaged while at Ricks’ 66 on Highway 53.

An employee of Redbox reported at 1:13 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, that a kiosk touch screen valued at $750 at 903 Highway 53 was damaged.

Chelsea Cassinger, 28, of the 100 block of Hampton Court, reported at 9:28 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, that her 2004 Suzuki 4-wheeler had been stolen. The vehicle was entered into M.U.L.E.S.

A MEDIC One EMS crew member located a black backpack at Huck’s Quick Stop and brought it to Poplar Bluff Police Department at 8:12 a. m. Thursday, Feb. 25. No identification was in the bag.

Tony Charles, 36, of the 2000 block of Barron, reported at 11:32 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 that his motorized wheelchair was stolen while he was hospitalized. The wheelchair was entered in M.U.L.E.S.

Miranda Michelle Johnson, 48, of the 1200 block of 10th Street, was arrested at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, on a failure to appear warrant after police responded to a peace disturbance call at the address. She was booked at Butler County jail.

April Nicole Fowler, 35, of Poplar Bluff, was booked at Butler County jail Thursday, Feb. 25 on a 48-hour shock detention.

POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT

Firefighters received a call about a person trapped in an elevator at 2049 Greenwood at 5:02 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25. According to the report, they used an elevator key to open the door. They reportedly had responded two hours earlier to another call regarding same issue. They blocked access to the elevator on all three floors and the elevator repair company was called.

Firefighters responded to an accident at 9:51 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 with a reported vehicle rollover at 203 North B St. According to the report, the vehicle had left the roadway, rolled and came to rest in an alleyway. The driver was uninsured.

Firefighters responded to a fire alarm at 2350 Kanell Blvd. at 9:17 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25. According to the report, they were advised that repairs were being made to sprinkler system and maintenance was testing the system.
