Kindergarten and early childhood programs at Neelyville R-IV are now accepting screening appointments for students eligible to attend school in 2021-2022.

Screening appointments for kindergarten-eligible students are now being accepted for Thursday, March 4.

Screening appointments for early childhood-eligible students are now being accepted for Friday, March 5, at Hillview Elementary.

Those who reside in the Neelyville R-IV School District and have a child who will be 5 years of age before Aug. 1, 2021, he or she may be eligible to enroll in kindergarten at Hillview Elementary for the 2021-2022 school year.

If the child will be 3 years of age, by March 5, 2021,* and no older than 4 before Aug. 1, 2021, he or she may qualify for the Early Childhood Special Education program.

Those who would like to make an appointment for screening can call Hillview Elementary at 573-989-3370 and speak to Ms. Kellie. The child’s birth certificate, an up-to-date immunization record and Medicaid/insurance card, proof of residence, as well as any legal guardianship paperwork will be needed at the screening appointment.

Screening will be conducted in the areas of beginning and pre-academic skills assessment, speech/language, vision, hearing and height/weight. Qualified school personnel will explain and interpret results of the screening to parents.

*Children turning 3 between March 4 and Aug. 1 will be screened the week of Aug. 23, 2021. Those interested should leave their name with Ms. Kellie in the Hillview office and the school will call at that time.
