The Agee Community Club ladies held their February meeting by telephone conference call. The weather had members snowed and iced in, and they refused to let that stop them from keeping their perfect record of never missing a monthly meeting in 87 years, according to minutes provided by the club.

The meeting was opened by club president Cathy Womack with the ladies repeating the club motto, “When the heart is full of love, the world is full of beauty.” Hostess for the meeting was Jeanie Figgins. Invocation was given by Nickey Orton. Devotional from Colossians 3:15&16 was read by Nadine Johnson.

Figgins gave the secretary and treasurer’s reports, there was no old business, and the next hostess will be Orton.

The roll call was answered by telling how you have spent your time while snowed in. Johnson gave a lesson to the ladies on 12 craft projects that can be done utilizing jute, which was found in the “Country Living Magazine.” A poem titled “Snow” from honorary belated club member Orel Smith’s book was read by Figgins. Womack read two articles, the first was called “Tip from nature,” the second was, “Your ears were not made to shut, and your mouth is.” Each lady has a gift in lieu of a door prize that will be given to them next month once they can meet in person. The ladies dismissed with the club collect, “Be Still and Know that I am God,” Psalms 46:10.
