POPLAR BLUFF POLICE Corey Lee Bertram, 44, of the 1300 section of Highway 53, was arrested 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, at the Super 8 Motel, 2831 N Westwood Blvd., on an Arkansas parole warrant and 10 Poplar Bluff city warrants for failure to appear in court. Jason Jewel Tippen, 44, of the 2600 block of Russell, was arrested at 6:01 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident with more than $1,000 damage. He was booked at Butler County jail.

__BUTLER COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT__

Billy Britney, 59, of the 900 section of Country Road 154, reported Friday, Feb. 12, that he received a motion detector alarm on his phone at his shed on County Road 341 in Neelyville. According to the report, a surveillance camera showed a male in a dark blue passenger car on the property. Britney reported he traveled to his property but the suspect was gone. He told deputies he discovered that several of his vehicles had been tampered with, a toolbox worth $200 was stolen, and the seat of a John Deere tractor was broken and would have to be replaced.

Brenton Lane Mills, 31, of the 200 block of Euclid Drive, reported at 4:10 p.m Saturday, Feb. 20, that the lock on his storage unit at 3021 S. Westwood Blvd., had been broken. According to the report, two totes of clothes valued at $200 and a Pioneer radio receiver valued at $350, were stolen.

Heather Priest, 36, of the 2000 section of Highway W, reported at 6:32 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, that two men trespassed on her property. The men reported that the previous owners allowed them to access the river from the property. Priest declined permission.

Mark Bales, 24, of the 5000 block of Nellie Sue Circle, reported Friday, Feb. 19, that multiple items had been stolen from his car, including miscellaneous tools worth $400, a Blu-ray of ‘Fantastic Beasts and where to find them,” a utility knife, a box knife, Polo red cologne, 100 rounds of .22 ammunition and ‘hearing protection.’

POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT

Firefighters were dispatched at 6:23 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, to unauthorized burning at Fair and Mangold streets. According to the report, they found a trash pile burning in the back yard of 2400 Fair St. They extinguished the fire and advised the occupants of the city’s burn ordinance and the requirement for trash service. They used approximately 50 gallons of water to extinguish the blaze.

Firefighters were dispatched at 1:38 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, to 2513 Sunset Terrace on an alarm. According to the report, they found water flowing from busted pipes had set off the alarm. The alarm company was notified to take the alarm out of service until maintenance could be performed.

Joseph Ross, 39, of Dexter, was arrested 4:14 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, on a warrant for failure to appear. He was booked at Dexter Police Department.

Christopher Duncan, 31, of Van Buren was arrested at 2:43 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, in Carter County on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He was booked at Carter County Sheriff’s Department and released.

Jonathan Hardwick, 23, of Van Buren was arrested at 12:58 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, Carter County on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest, speeding and failure to signal. He was booked at Carter County Sheriff’s Department and released.

William Harbison, 54, of Lesterville was arrested at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, in Reynolds County on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to signal.

Nakia Haw, 45, of Atkins, Arkansas, was arrested at 9:43 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, in Stoddard County on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and driving on a revoked license. He was released.

Christian Francis, 26, of Broseley was arrested at 11:23 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, in Butler County on suspicion of driving while intoxicated unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana and driving without insurance. He was booked at Butler County jail and released.
