We’re grateful for warm hearts in this chilly time

It’s been a long week.

At least for any of us who have shoveled snow, dealt with changing work schedules to accommodate the weather, helped shuttle those with transportation issues around, or have generally felt a little put out by Mother Nature.

For all of the school children enjoying the time off school and the opportunity to be knee-deep in fresh powder, it may not have felt nearly long enough. But many others are ready for a return to a less chilly landscape.

We want to thank all of you who have helped keep the world running during the disruptions and delays brought on by the winter weather.

A job as a snowplow driver or operating a road grader may feel somewhat thankless as people get impatient to see their roads cleared.

Your work is appreciated.

For the first responders who have faced sub-zero temperatures, we also want to say thank you for protecting and caring for residents in the most difficult conditions.

And to those who have reached out a helping hand to residents who are not fortunate enough to have a warm place to take shelter or enough food to eat, you help make our community stronger.

All of these people make us grateful to live in this region.
