CAPE GIRARDEAU – Saint Francis Healthcare System is pleased to welcome Bruce A. Jones, MD, thoracic surgeon, to Cape Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.
Jones is an experienced thoracic surgeon, specializing in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, who joins Saint Francis from Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
Jones earned his medical degree from University of Nebraska in Omaha in 1989, and completed his general surgery internship at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville in 1990. He completed his residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland in 1996, and then completed his fellowship at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston in 2000.
Jones is board certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. His major interest is minimally invasive valve surgery of which he has performed well over 500 cases.
Cape Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery collaborates with the Heart Hospital, home to some of the region’s most-respected heart surgeons, and provides specialty care to those who require heart surgery due to diseases in the heart, lungs, chest and blood vessels.
