Rickey Lee Pennington, Sr., 68, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Monday, Feb. 8, 2021. He was born July 8, 1952, in Naylor, Missouri, to Julia (Jaco) Pennington and the late Harold Pennington.
Rickey was a veteran, having served our nation in the Army. On Jan. 28, 1971, he married his love and best friend, Sandy (Flatt) Pennington in Poplar Bluff. They had just celebrated 50 years together.
Rickey had several interests such as playing a game of chess, listening to all sorts of music, fishing and traveling.
Survivors include his mother, Julia (Jaco) Pennington; his wife, Sandy (Flatt) Pennington; one son, Rickey Lee Pennington, Jr., of Poplar Bluff; two daughters, Jennifer Christman of Ellsinore, Missouri, and Tonya Kaser of Colorado; four sisters, Karen Dudley and Tammy Dirba of Texas, Julie Wright and Janie Thompson of Poplar Bluff; as well as 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Rickey was preceded in death by his father, Harold Pennington.
Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 12, 2021, in the Fitch-Hillis Chapel starting at 1 p.m., with services to follow at 2 p.m. Martin Eads will be the speaker. Social distancing and masks are recommended.
