Marilyn Michie Foster, daughter of the late Albert S. and Virginia I. Michie (Corrington) was born on October 19, 1936 in Caruthersville, Missouri. She departed this life in Chesterfield, Missouri on February 6, 2021. She attained the age of 84 years, 3 months and 18 days.
Marilyn attended nursing school briefly in Memphis, Tennessee. This time stuck with her and she spoke fondly of her Memphis memories. It was there she met her husband.
On October 2, 1955 she was united in marriage to the late Richard L. Foster, Sr. They resided in Van Buren, Missouri for many years running the service station in town. They enjoyed square dancing and were in many clubs. They also enjoyed gardening. They made many friends in Van Buren and built a wonderful life and legacy there. They spent their later years living in St Peters, Missouri.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and her brothers, James and Charles.
She is survived by her seven children, Richard (Insuk) Foster Jr. of Fairview Heights Illinois, James Steven Foster of Van Buren, Kathryn (Ed) Jandreau of O’Fallon, Missouri, Chris (Kim) Foster of Ellsinore, Missouri, John (Gennie) Foster of Jefferson City, Missouri, David (Dana) Foster of St. Peters, Missouri and Jeff Foster of O’Fallon, Missouri. She was also blessed to be survived by 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and many other friends and relatives.
A visitation will be held at noon Saturday, February 13 in the McSpadden Funeral Home in Van Buren with the funeral services following at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the Van Buren City Cemetery in Van Buren.
