City firefighters responded at 11:26 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, to a report of an unauthorized burn at 222 North C Street. Upon arrival, firefighters found a large trash fire. Firefighters made contact with the occupant, who put the fire out.

City firefighters responded at 6:02 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, to a report of a motor vehicle fire at 3095 Oak Grove Road. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the fire had aready been put out.

City firefighters responded at 11:07 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, to a report of smoke in the area of Davis Street and Garfield Street. Firefighters discovered several piles of leaves burning at 610 Davis Street. After attempting to get the occupant to answer the door at the location, firefighters extinguished the fires.
Dexter L. Dennis, 32, of the 1100 block of Fairmont Street was arrested at 8:28 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, at Ninth Street and Henderson Avenue on a warrant for parole violation. Dennis was booked at the Butler County jail.

A 17-year-old female juvenile suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, on Route PP, five miles west of Poplar Bluff. According to the report, the juvenile was operating a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze eastbound on Route PP when she ran off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, then struck a tree. The driver was transported by private vehicle to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for examination.
