CORNING, Ark. — Obie O’Neal Duncan, 91, of Corning, Arkansas, passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2021 at Five Rivers Medical Center in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Mr. Duncan was born in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas, Dec. 29, 1929. He was retired from rice and soybean farming, but during his life he had worked in construction, a heavy equipment operator, a cattle rancher and the Corning Street Superintendent. ...

CORNING, Ark. — Obie O’Neal Duncan, 91, of Corning, Arkansas, passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2021 at Five Rivers Medical Center in Pocahontas, Arkansas.

Mr. Duncan was born in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas, Dec. 29, 1929. He was retired from rice and soybean farming, but during his life he had worked in construction, a heavy equipment operator, a cattle rancher and the Corning Street Superintendent. He enjoyed camping, deer hunting, trout fishing and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Success Church of Christ.

He married his wife, Mrs. Carolyn (Sadler) Duncan, June 26, 1993, she survives.

Other survivors include his children, Peggy Hart, Michael (Linda) Duncan, Sandy (Chuck) Guthrie, Tina Duncan, Kim (Dale) Curtis; stepson, Tony (Leigh) Williams; sister Helen Owen; and as he always said, “a bob truck load” of descendants: including nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, O.G. and Stella (Holleman) Duncan; his first wife, Elsie (Smalley) Duncan; siblings W.L. Duncan, Ben Duncan, Beatrice Norwood, Audrey Yvonne Dicus, and Margie Cox; grandchildren, Jamie Forrester, Stephen Fraine, Jr., and Vanessa Fraine.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, visitation will be family only. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021 in the Corning Cemetery with Bruce McGrew officiating.
