PUXICO, Mo. — Martha Norris of Puxico, Missouri, daughter of the late William and Meta Buchanan, was born Jan. 9, 1930, and passed away at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Dec. 21, 2020, at the age of 90 years.
Martha belonged to the Missouri Retired Teachers Association, and The Puxico Thursday Culture Club. She was a former board member for the Stoddard County Rescue Mission. Martha was also part of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was a life long member of Fairview United Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, sewing and working the daily cross word puzzle in the news paper.
Martha was married to Russell Alton Norris April 14, 1948 until his death on July 31, 1971.
Surviving her two sons, Arthur (Sandi) Norris of Puxico, and Dale (Danetta) Norris of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; two daughters, Kathy (John) Ginn of Puxico and Mary (Eddie) Barnhill of Charleston, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, William and Meta Buchanan; two brothers, Louis Buchanan of Puxico and an infant brother; and two infant grandchildren.
Martha is survived by a host of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to be made to Stoddard County Gospel Mission and Seed to Root Ministries.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020 at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020, at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Puxico with the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Puxico in charge of all the arrangements.
