DEXTER — National Title & Escrow, based in Dexter, Missouri, has acquired Mississippi County Abstract & Loan Company in Charleston, Missouri.
The office, which was put up for sale earlier this fall, becomes National Title’s fourth location. In addition to Dexter and now Charleston, National Title has offices in New Madrid and Little Rock, Arkansas.
The purchase also includes Mississippi County’s only title plant, an important detail to Jake Nesselrodt, National Title & Escrow’s director of operations. Having those records will help Nesselrodt and his team provide expert service and research right away for any real estate transactions in the county.
Mississippi County Abstract & Loan Company was established in 1909 and has been in its current 105 E. Court St., location since 1937.
“In this case, we were notified that the longtime owner of Mississippi County Abstract was looking to sell. There is a lot of history in that office, and the entire National Title team is excited about the potential relationships with Realtors and Lenders in this great community,” Nesselrodt said about his company’s latest acquisition. “All of us are ready to put our expertise, resources and technology to work for our new customers.”
Mississippi County Abstract President Hazel Williams, who had owned the company since 1974, said she is sure National Title will continue to deliver for her loyal customers. Williams’ daughter, Becky Hearns, who worked in the office for almost 40 years herself, has been working with Nesselrodt during the last few weeks to help ensure a smooth transition.
“The business and the residents of Mississippi County are in good hands with Jake and National Title & Escrow,” Williams said. “I’m confident they will give the residents of this county the same prompt and accurate service our clients have come to expect from us over the years, and I wish them well.”
“This is just the start of a chapter of growth and success for National Title & Escrow,” said Chad Gill, one of the principals of National Title. “With Jake leading the charge, our team is ready to grow while still making sure each one of our customer transactions are handled with the highest level of care everyone has come to expect from us.”
