The Caregiver Support program at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center will host a series of four Caregivers first classes in December.

Classes will be held from 10 a.m. until noon Dec. 9, 11, 16 and 18.

Caregivers First is a training program for caregivers of veterans with physical or cognitive impairments.

The program is designed to help caregivers learn new skills, practice positive self care, connect with other caregivers and navigate VA and other community resources.

During the final class, S.A.V.E. suicide prevention training also will be covered.

All classes will be done by telephone.

Those who wish to participate must register by Dec. 7 and must be able to attend all classes.

To register, contact the hospital’s Caregiver Support staff at 573-778-4476.

Dial-in information for the class will be provided when you register.
