Poplar Bluff firefighters were dispatched at 9:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, to 1809 Woodrow to a report of a leaf fire. The occupant had the fire out when they arrived, according to the report. He stated someone placed a burning bag on his back fence causing the leaves to catch on fire.

Poplar Bluff firefighters were dispatched at 3:45 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, to a large pile of leaves on fire in the median between two lanes of Big Bend. Using the booster line, they applied 200 gallons of water to extinguish the fire.

Poplar Bluff police arrested Dorothy Marie Eskridge Sales, 49, of the 600 block of West Neat Street Saturday, Nov. 21, on Highway 142 on a failure to appear warrant of a non-moving violation. She was booked into the Butler County jail.

Poplar Bluff police arrested Chance A. Hubbard, 29, of Fairdealing Saturday, Nov. 21, on two Poplar Bluff city failure to appear warrants and two Butler County failure to appear warrants. The city warrants were for an equipment violation and stealing. The county warrants were for amphetamine possession and larceny stealing. He was booked into the Butler County jail.

John Maynard Bradley, 50, of Cape Girardeau was arrested Friday, Nov. 20, on three failure to appear warrants for no insurance first offense, possession of a controlled substance and delivery of a controlled substance. He was booked into the Butler County jail.

Joseph Andrew Dowdy, 27, of the 100 block of Country Meadows was arrested Friday, Nov. 20, on suspicion of stealing $750 or more. He was booked into the Butler County jail.
