Jerry Stewart

Jerry Stewart, 80-year-old resident of Doniphan, Missouri, departed this life Friday, Nov. 13, 2020.

He was born Oct. 26, 1940 in East Prairie, Missouri to the late Howford and Mary (Myers) Stewart.

Jerry was a familiar face in Doniphan serving for many years on the Doniphan Police force, from which he retired. Jerry enjoyed golfing, was a member of Doniphan First Christian Church, and served in the United States Navy.

On June 26, 1960, Jerry married Susie Louise Hallam in Oahu, Hawaii. She preceded him in death Aug. 29, 2019.

Surviving are his sons, Bruce (Sheri) Stewart of Doniphan and Terry (Lori Taniguchi) Stewart of Torrance, California; sister, Wanda Ponder; brother, Howford E. Stewart; grandchildren, Kristy Stewart, Amanda (James) Quick, and Colton Dillinger; and his great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Jaysa, Jaira, and Jailey.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020 at Edwards Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Brother John Harwell will be officiating. Burial will follow at Towles Cemetery. Memorials may be made in his name to St. Jude or the American Cancer Society.
