Family Video is closing its 120 N 10th St. location and began its liquidation sale on Monday.

“Our going-out-of business sale started today and will go until Dec. 20, which is the very last day we are going to be open,” said Joseph Wallis, who has worked for Family Video for three years. “They plan on us being out before then. If we sell out all of our goods, we’ll be closed before then.”

Movies, games, CBD, store fixtures and more are being sold at a discounted rate.

Wallis said the store has “four great employees.”

“We are very thankful to have been able to provide entertainment for many family movie nights, and want to thank the people of Poplar Bluff and our incredible staff for the many years of support and service,” Keith Hoogland, CEO, Highland Ventures LTD, said in a press release.

Family Video has served the Poplar Bluff community since 2010.

The last standing brick-and-mortar movie rental store will continue to operate 250 stores across the Midwest.
