ELLSINORE, Mo. — Calvin Sidney LeGrand, 79, son of the late Elbert LeGrand and Myrtle (Crowley) LeGrand was born June 9, 1941 in Ellsinore, Missouri; and departed this life Oct. 27, 2020 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Calvin had resided in Ellsinore his entire life. He was a member of the Harmony General Baptist Church in Ellsinore. Calvin worked for 27 years at Porter Dewitt Ready Mix Concrete Company in Poplar Bluff, MIssouri. In his later years, he worked for Grassham Chevrolet, Grassham Lumber Company, 21 Saw Shop and Van Dykes. His greatest passion was singing Southern Gospel music, but most of all, spending time with family. He enjoyed deer hunting out of the Bronco with his son and grandchildren. In his younger years, he enjoyed coon hunting and fox hunting with friends, and listening to the dogs run in Garwood. Calvin never met a stranger. Telling jokes and pestering others was always expected. He was certainly unpredictable.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita; son, Monty and wife Teresa; daughter, Laura; five grandchildren; Bethany and her husband, Cody, Makayla, Hailey and her husband, Wyatt, Conner, Coleton and his wife, Jordan; five great-grandchildren, Sydney, Sadie, Lucas, Lennon and Bazz; four step-children; seven step-grandchildren and many other family and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, Calvin was preceded in death by two sisters, June LeGrand and Mary LeGrand and one great-grandson, Stetson Newman.
