The John J. Pershing VA Medical Center accepted a sizeable donation from Bailey’s CARSTAR. The donation will be used to fund the Care and Share Program, which provides ingredients for a holiday meal to veterans living below the federal poverty line.
“VA can provide health care services with our congressionally appropriated funding,” said Voluntary Service Chief J. Dale Garrett, “but sometimes our veterans need assistance with other things, too.
“That’s where our community donors come in. Mr. Bailey employs veterans and was happy to help the Care and Share Program because he knows it provides food for our poorest veterans at a very special time of year.”
Garrett said the VA is grateful to Bailey for his “very generous donation. His contribution and other community support will help us feed up to 250 veterans this year – probably our largest reach in the history of the program.”
