While a recent vehicle vs. utility pole accident impacted only a small number of customers, it took up to four crews to repair the damage earlier this week.
Costs for repairs have not been calculated at this time, according to utility and law enforcement officials, and the driver involved has not been named.
Four Municipal Utility trucks were at the site Wednesday on South 11th Street.
Just before 7 p.m. Oct. 15, a 2002 Ford Mustang was being operated southbound on 11th Street by an unknown driver, according to a Poplar Bluff Police Department crash report.
The car reportedly left the road, just south of Marylane Drive, and struck a utility pole.
The area is near service lots for the Baldwin car dealership, across the street from Westwood Boulevard.
Utility workers were able to restore power within approximately 60 minutes to 24 customers, according to Bill Bach, Municipal Utilities General Manager.
Utility personnel replaced the pole, and the repairs are complete at this time, said Bach, who indicated the repair costs have not been calculated at this time.
