Archie Dee Johnson, 83, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away Oct. 14, 2020 at his home in Poplar Bluff.

Archie was born Oct. 3, 1937 to the late Samuel and Lucy (Boggs) Johnson in Crandon, Wisconsin. He married Bonnie Marvlee Johnson Aug. 30, 1975 in Poplar Bluff. She preceded him in death July 27, 2016.

Archie served our country in the United States Navy from 1955-1958. During his time in the Navy he was a Golden Glove Boxer.

He was a member of Abundant Life Christian Center in Poplar Bluff.

He enjoyed his family; especially granddaughter Sarah, traveling, singing, playing guitar, watching sports; mainly football and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

Archie is survived by children: Rodney Johnson and wife Shelly, Kevin Johnson, Lori West and husband Ray, Carrie Johnson and husband Sam, Gary Gowen, Donnie Gowen and wife Brenda, Janet Thomas and husband David, Diana Gowen; 24 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren; sisters: Vicki Johnson-Young, Elaine Johnson; sister-in-law: Carleen Gowen; and brothers-in-law: Eddy Randall and Phillip Virgil.

Archie was preceded in death by his wife; parents; grandchildren: Richard Thomas and Rebecca Diane York; brothers: Gordan, James, Buck, and David Johnson; sisters-in-law: Virginia Magill, Louise Pratt, Lola Morgan, Margrette Gossett, Edna Moore, Shirley Johnson and Betty Johnson.

There will be a military rites ceremony at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020 at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo. Only 10 people will be allowed inside the pavilion all others may watch from their cars.
