Kenneth Ray Clark, 85, passed away Friday, Sept. 18, 2020, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He was born Feb. 11, 1935, in Poplar Bluff to Leo and Ruby (Phelps) Clark. Kenneth Ray Clark, 85, passed away Friday, Sept. 18, 2020, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 11, 1935, in Poplar Bluff to Leo and Ruby (Phelps) Clark.

Ken graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in 1953 and attended the University of Missouri, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. From 1958 to 1960 he served in the United States Army and was based in Germany, where he was assigned to the track team. Upon his return to civilian life, he graduated from Arkansas State University. He retired from Bluff City Beer Company in 1997.

On June 3, 1967, he married Charlotte (Shotsie) Dreve. She survives. 

Also surviving are two sons, Christopher Clark of the home and Cory Clark (Shelina) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; granddaughters Kierstan Thornton (Josh), Daelyn Clark, and Analeice Barfield and great-grandsons Kadence Miller and Josh Thornton, all of Hurley and Pascagoula, Mississippi; sister, Carol (Larry) Rock of Union, Kentucky and several nieces and nephews.

Ken was known as the storyteller among the guys, many whose friendships dated back to high school and even childhood. He loved to sing, especially harmonize, and had a great sense of humor. He loved his family and was especially proud of his sons and granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Joan Westhoff, Judy Garlock, and Patricia Losh.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian burial beginning at 11 a.m.  Father Daniel Robles will serve as Celebrant. A graveside inurnment with full military honors will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Navy SEAL Foundation, 1619 D Street, Virginia Beach, VA 23459 (online at www.navysealfoundation.org); to Sacred Heart Catholic Church; or to a charity of one’s choice.
