Gerald Maurice Worley, 86, of Walls, Mississippi, formerly of Poplar Bluff, passed away Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Veteran’s Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn. Gerald was born July 6, 1934 to Clifton Maurice and Mable Lucille Bland Worley in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He and Anna Sue Hammon were married Feb. 20, 1955, she preceded him in death May 25, 2005...

Gerald Maurice Worley, 86, of Walls, Mississippi, formerly of Poplar Bluff, passed away Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Veteran’s Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn.

Gerald was born July 6, 1934 to Clifton Maurice and Mable Lucille Bland Worley in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He and Anna Sue Hammon were married Feb. 20, 1955, she preceded him in death May 25, 2005.

Gerald was a member of First Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. He also enjoyed horseback riding, traveling, and reading Westerns and spending time with his family.

Gerald is survived by a fiancé, Orbie Jean Pinkston of Walls, Mississippi; three children, Debbie Martin, Lester Clifton (Patty) Worley, and Charles Allen (Gay) Worley, all of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Brenda Gail Worley (Donald) Yarbro and Linda Lee Worley (Gene) Hooker, both of Poplar Bluff; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Gerald is preceded in death by a son-in-law James Martin and a brother Charles Leslie Worley.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020 from 11 a.m. until time of service at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. at the chapel with the Pastor Carlos Jeffries officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Community Cemetery.
