Marissa Marie Burroughs and Landon David Massingham are both from Poplar Bluff, where their parents, Mark and Helen Burroughs and Mark and Paula Massingham, also reside.

__An instant connection:__

Marissa and Landon met at a Christmas Eve birthday party in 2016 and made an immediate connect. But Landon was attending college in Springfield at the time and it would be a few months before they would run into one another again. Over old CDs during a road trip, Landon later told Marissa he loved her, but they were both certain early on they had met the “one.”

Marissa and Landon have spent the past three years building a life together, buying a home, adopting a Golden Retriever and starting their careers.

__The big question:__

Landon proposed July 31, 2018, at Lake Estes in Colorado, while on a trip with their best friends.

She says: The location, the man and the ring were perfect.
