Brian L. Declue, 32, of the 600 block of Kinzer Street was arrested at 12:19 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Sally Beauty on a failure to appear warrant for a traffic violation and a warrant for child neglect. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Patrick D. Raines, 31, of the 1500 block of Grand Avenue was arrested at 4:42 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, in the Black River Industrial Park on a failure to appear warrant for statutory sodomy. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Mica L. Walker, 35, of Kennett was arrested at 2:21 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, on Bartlett Street on a failure to appear warrant for possession of dangerous drugs. She was booked at the Butler County jail.

Pearson, 33, of the 1800 block of North 14th Street was arrested at 2:09 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, on Bartlett Street on a failure to appear warrant for burglary and on suspicion of no license plates, driving while revoked and financial responsibility required. She was booked at the Butler County jail.

Melody Canell of the 800 block of Oakhill Road reported at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, what sounded like gunshots along Bearden Street. Upon their arrival, police found nothing.

Jason Wirt of Mountain View, Arkansas, reported at 10:20 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, that the license plate from his 2019 Honda motorcycle had been stolen sometime in the evening of Sept. 17 while it was parked at the Super 8 Motel.

BUTLER COUNTY SHERIFF DEPARTMENT

Tammy Morehead of the 1500 block of County Road 421 reported at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, that her mailbox in front of her house had been shot and had a single bullet hole in it.

Jacob Ford of the 1300 block of Whispering Pine reported at 11:10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, that his Infiniti Q50 car had been stolen from his residence sometime that morning. The car was found by a hunter later that day hidden in the woods along County Road 402 near Pine Cone Road.

Candita S. Floyd, 42, of Centralia, Missouri, was booked Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Butler County jail on a failure to appear warrant for domestic assault.

Michael S. Jameson, 43, of Laredo, Texas, was booked Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Butler County jail on failure to appear warrants for possession of marijauna and harassment. He later was released.

Ethan T. Miller, 19, of the 1500 block of Grand Avenue was booked Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Butler County jail on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident.

Devini J. Sansoucie, 28, of the 1600 block off Highway 142 was booked Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Butler County jail on a failure to appear warrant for driving while revoked.

Hutch A. Townsley, 38, of Paragould, Arkansas, was booked Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Butler County jail on a capias warrant for burglary and a capias warrant for property damage.

Scott D. Tucker, 43, of Patterson was booked Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Butler County jail on a parole violation.

Billy W. Young, 48, of Williamsville was booked Thursday, Sept. 24, at the Butler County jail on suspicion of second-degree burglary, stealing a motor vehicle and a warrant for stealing a motor vehicle.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

Matthew C. Hopkins, 23, of Caruthersville was arrested at 11:06 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, in Butler County on suspicion of driving while intoxicated with a person less than 17 years of age in the vehicle, exceeding the posted speed limit and failure to secure a child less than 8 years old in a child restraint. He was held at the Butler County jail.

POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT

Poplar Bluff Firefighters responded at 5.30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, to a car fire at Burger King, 1201 N. Westwood Blvd. When firefighters arrived, an employee of Popeyes had used a fire extinguisher to attempt to extinguish the fire. Firefighters used a booster line to extinguisher a small area that continued to have flames coming from a small module which continued to smoke.

When firefighters disconnected the module it quite producing smoke.

Firefighters responded to an alarm at 5.35 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, to Preferred Family Health Care, 346 N. Main St.

Firefighters gained entry to the building from the key holder. A fire alarm panel said it was a smoke sensor in the lobby area.

Fire crews checked the entire building and nothing was found. The alarm was reset.

Firefighters were dispatched at 9.28 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, to 1803 Raulston, but the call was canceled in route.

Firefighters were dispatched at 3.49 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, to Benton and Lexington to an unauthorized burn. Upon arrival, they were unable to locate any fire. They spoke with the reporting party, who said there was a smoke smell earlier but it apparently had dissipated.

Firefighters were dispatched at 6.35 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, to J.C. Penney Co., 500 block of S. Westwood Blvd.

The store manager reported one of the lights had been smoking and they could smell smoke.

Firefighters checked the light and could tell some of the wires had been arcing. They used a thermal imaging camera. and checked the light. It was not hot. They removed the light’s cover and it started arcing again. Firefighters turned the breaker off to the light and the arcing stopped.

The store manager was going to have an electrician fix the problem.
