WAPPAPELLO — Richard Lee Pallett of Wappapello, Missouri, passed away Friday, Sept. 11, at Mark Twain Caring Center at the age of 87.

Mr. Pallett was born Nov. 4, 1932 in Callaway, Nebraska, son of the late Theodore Pallett and Millie Day (nee Lowery). He attended Lake Wappapello United Methodist Church for many years.

He was married to Margery (Mumaw) Pallett on May 8,1954. She preceded him in death on Nov. 13, 2012.

Richard was a retired ironworker. He loved to hunt, fish and to fix things. Mr. Pallett was generous, ready to help anyone in need. He volunteered at the local Methodist food pantry.

His survivors include two sons, Donald (Louise) Carpenter of Cozad, Nebraska and Ted Pallett of Lake Wappapello, and a daughter, Margery (Steven) Waldrop of San Saba, Texas, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Mr. Pallett was also preceded in death by his daughter, Paulette Pallett, of Lake Wappapello.

There will be a memorial service on Friday, Sept. 18 at 11 a.m. at Lake Wappapello United Methodist Church, 2930 Highway D, with Pastor Craig Hamilton officiating.

Burial will be at the VA cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri, with military honors.
