The Butler County Sheriff’s Department is seeking information on the whereabouts of Tyler Scott Wangler in connection to a Wednesday shooting.

“(Wangler’s) a person of interest in today’s shooting at the 100 block of Regency Lane,” said Butler County Sheriff Mark Dobbs. “ … He is considered armed and dangerous.”

At about noon, “we had a report of a male subject shot numerous times in the Hilliard area,” said Dobbs. “ … He was found at the railroad tracks at Hilliard on the highway. He had pulled over and a passerby saw him there bleeding.”

The motorist, who called authorities, had found the man walking around his car, Dobbs said. The man reportedly was alone.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment of what Dobbs described as non-life threatening injuries.

Dobbs said Wangler, 29, is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighing 185 pounds, with short brown hair.

Wangler also is wanted on an outstanding Butler County warrant for tampering with a motor vehicles with a bond of $50,000.
