Three people were injured Monday morning in two crashes, which occurred within four minutes on the same stretch of U.S. 60 in Stoddard County.

The first crash occurred at 11:20 a.m. on Highway 60, one and one-half miles east of Highway N, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol’s online reports.

The crash occurred as Jordan K. Condict, 24, of Essex was operating a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox westbound when it allegedly struck the rear of a 2013 Ford Escape and forced it off the right side of the road.

The driver of the Ford Escape, Helen M. Hicks, 71, of Poplar Bluff suffered minor injuries as did her 59-year-old passenger, Terry R. Porter of Osage Beach, Missouri.

Both were taken by ambulance to Delta Medical Center in Sikeston for treatment.

Four minutes later, Kiefer A. Clay was operating a 2013 Nissan Altima when it struck Condict’s SUV, which was stationary in the passing lane.

Clay, 31, of Bernie suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to SoutheastHEALTH of Stoddard County at Dexter for treatment.
