Junior Ray Tompkins, 91, of Pollard, Ark., died Friday, Aug. 7, 2020 at General Baptist Nursing Home of Piggott, Ark.

Mr. Tompkins was born Nov. 30, 1928 in Qulin, to the late John Wesley and Florence Tompkins. He served in the Army as a CPL from 1953 to 1955.

On Sept. 1, 1951 he married Fern Osborn. She preceded him in death on May 15, 2004.

He is survived by two sons: Greg Tompkins of Sheridan, Ark., and Kevin Tompkins of Qulin; one daughter: Sonia Lee of Springfield, La.; eight grandchildren: Chad, David, Trey, Kristie, Larry Keith, Michael, Daniel and Lindsey; 15 great grandchildren; three brothers: Glen Tompkins of Qulin, Bill Tompkins and Theron Tompkins both of Patterson, Mo.; and two sisters: Betty Davis of Patterson, Mo. and Margie O’Donell of Saint Louis.

He was also preceded in death by four brothers: Chester, Sylvester, Melvin and Jerry Tompkins; two sisters: Ruby Pierce and Dorothy Martin; and one great-grandchild: Avery Austin.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2020 at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Qulin. Gravesides services will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday at Qulin Cemetery in Qulin with Rev. Jim Sanders officiating. Condolences: www.whitesandersfuneralhome.com
