Poplar Bluff man dies in weekend crash

A 30-year-old Poplar Bluff man died of injuries sustained from a one vehicle crash at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, on Highway 21 about one mile north from Route NN.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Austin B. Evans was operating a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt northbound when he lost control of the vehicle on a curve, ran off the right side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned. He was ejected from the vehicle.

Dr. A Nadipelli at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center pronounced Evans dead at 11 p.m. that night.

He is the 33rd fatality in Troop E this year.
