PB man killed in Saturday crash

A 53-year-old Poplar Bluff man was killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a scooter at 3:34 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, on Highway 67, two miles north of Poplar Bluff.

According to the report, Gary D. Arbuckle was operating a northbound 2015 Tao Tao scooter the wrong way on the U.S. 67, and his scooter overturned, ejecting him.

Arbuckle allegedly then was hit by a 2002 Ford pickup being operated southbound by Derek R. Glover, 33, of Monroe, Wisconsin.

Arbuckle was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:11 a.m. by Butler County Coroner Andy Moore.

Arbuckle is the 31st fatality in Troop E this year.
