GREENVILLE -- On Thursday, the Greenville Lodge No. 107 A.F. & A.M. honored Greenville resident, Carol Lee “Pix” McLane, for his 60 years of masonic service to their lodge.

There were more than 50 people present to help McLane celebrate the evening.

After a potluck dinner, R.W.B. Ted Marlow served as worshipful master and preformed the masonic ceremony for McLane. Other lodge members participating were: W.B. David Bollinger, secretarial historian; W.B. Allen Brooks, senior deacon; W.B. Terance Baker, marshal and Bro. Matt Looney, chaplain.

McLane’s masonic history was read, and he was presented with a 60-year service pin and certificate.

Bro. Madison Baker, grandson of McLane and member of Greenville Lodge No. 107, presented his grandfather with the lapel pin. W.B. Bill Schanks and W.B. Jerry Gowen presented McLane with his framed certificate.

On Nov. 19, 1959, McLane was elected to receive the degrees of freemasonry in Greenville Lodge No. 107 A.F. & A.M. He was initiated into the mysteries of freemasonry on Dec. 3, 1959, passed to the degree of fellowcraft on Feb. 4, 1960, and raised to the sublime degree of master mason on March 19, 1960, in a special ceremony by the grand master of Missouri, M.W.B. Harold O. Grauel of Cape Girardeau.

The 3rd degree of W.B. McLane was held in the Greenville High School. He soon became a 32nd degree member of the Valley of St. Louis, Scottish Rite, a member of the Greenville Chapter No. 337 O.E.S. and was honored by the Grand Lodge of Missouri on 50 years of Masonic service on March 19, 2010.

McLane served as worshipful master of Greenville Lodge No. 107 A.F. & A.M. during the 2014-2015 masonic year, receiving the Grand Lodge of Missouri Achievement Award. He served as a lodge trustee from 2015-2017.

McLane was born in Old Greenville on March 5, 1938. He graduated from Greenville High School in 1956 and was given a full scholarship to the University of Missouri, Columbia.

From childhood, McLane was introduced to the livestock business and the family owned McLane Cattle Company.

Over the years, McLane has held ownership interests in the Farmington, Fredericktown, Patton Junction and Puxico Livestock Markets and Hoopers Stockyards in Montgomery, Alabama. McLane was co-owner of the McLane-Garrett Cattle Co. in Montgomery, Alabama. In addition, McLane was a salesman for Blackwell-Baldwin Motors in Poplar Bluff.

McLane married Barbara Ann Kennedy of Coldwater in September 1957, and the couple has three children; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

McLane is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Poplar Bluff, the Missouri Cattleman’s Association and the NRA and was associated many years in the Wayne County Livestock Producers Association at Silva. He also served as president of the Greenville Alumni Association in 1970.
