City firefighters responded at 11:12 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, to reports of a structure fire at 904 Cynthia Street.
According to the report, when they arrived firefighters could see heave smoke coming from the attic. They forced entry and saw a fire at the top of the stairs.
They used 20 gallons of water to put out the flames and used a PPV fan to clean out the smoke.
The home, owned by Sandy Jones, was unoccupied and being renovated. While the cause is undetermined, firefighters noticed multiple wires and junction boxes near the fire.

City firefighters responded at 11:57 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, to reports of an unauthorized burn at 402 N. Second Street.
According to the report, occupant Elliot Vandergriff was burning wire. Firefighters put it out and informed him of city burn ordinance before vacating.
