City firefighters responded at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 12, to a report of an unauthorized burn at 1903 Woodrow St.

According to the report, firefighters found a small unauthorized burn in a vacant lot. The fire was out upon firefighters’ arrival.

City firefighters responded at 2:14 p.m. Sunday, July 12, to a report of a grass fire close to the 1128 Iron Bridge Road residence occupied by Sharon Meadows.

According to the report, firefighters used 100 gallons of water to put out what was described as a large grass fire.

City firefighters responded at 6:57 p.m. Saturday, July 11, to a report of a gas leak at Home City Ice, 718 Adam St.

According to the report, firefighters detected a strong odor of ammonia upon their arrival. The manager reported he thought the leak was coming from the condensing unit, which makes the ice. He further reported hearing a hissing sound and detected an ammonia odor coming from the unit.

Firefighters found two ammonia tanks and shut off the valves on both to stop any further leakage. There was no sign of a visible leak.
