MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

A 22-year-old Van Buren woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 11:35 p.m. July 8 on U.S. 60, two miles west of Willow Springs, in Texas County.

According to the report, Ashley V. Mace, 25, of Goodman, Missouri, was operating a 2003 Dodge pickup westbound when it ran off the left side of the road and overturned.

Mace’s passenger, Destiny J. Wead, suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Ozark Medical Center in West Plains for treatment.

Three area men were injured in a one-vehicle crash at 9:40 a.m. July 6 on County Road 229, three miles west of Ellsinore.

According to the report, Jacob R. Bynum, 25, of Marquand was operating a 2002 Ford Escape southbound when he failed to negotiate a curve, which caused his SUV to run off the road and strike a tree.

Bynum suffered minor injuries, while his passengers, Hunter E. Vest, 19, and Shayla P. Wells, 25, both of Ellsinore, suffered moderate injuries.

Vest and Wells were taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Bynum was to seek his own treatment.

A 23-year-old Poplar Bluff man was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, July 12, on Highway 53 at Highway 51 in Butler County.

According to the report, Lemarcus T. Johnson was operating a northbound 2007 Chevrolet Impala when it made a right turn into the path of a 2001 Dodge being driven by David R. Huff, 48, of Poplar Bluff.

Johnson suffered minor injuries and was taken by private vehicle to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.

A 17-year-old Poplar Bluff resident was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 5:40 a.m. Sunday, July 12, on U.S. 160 at Highway BB in Ripley County.

According to the report, Payton C. Cates was operating a 2013 Toyota Rav4 westbound when it ran off the right side of the road, struck a culvert and overturned.

Cates suffered minor injuries and was taken by private vehicle to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.

A 25-year-old Bismarck, Missouri, man was killed when he was struck by a vehicle at 4:35 a.m. Sunday, July 12, on Highway OO, three miles north of Fredericktown.

According to the report, Glenn A. Mohan, 45, of Farmington was operating a 2003 Ford Excursion southbound when his SUV struck Jacob T. Kirkpatrick, who was laying in the road.

Kirkpatrick was pronounced dead at 5:30 a.m. by Madison County Coroner Collin Follis. He is the 28th fatality in Troop E this year.

A 65-year-old Lowndes man was injured in a motorcycle crash at 11:32 a.m. Saturday, July 11, on Highway TT, just north of Highway Z, in Wayne County.

According to the report, Norman P. Gentry was operating a 2002 Suzuki motorcycle southbound when it struck debris in the road, which caused the motorcycle to run off the right side of the road.

Gentry, who was ejected, suffered moderate injuries and was flown to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for treatment.

Two area men were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 7:15 a.m. July 9 on Highway 51, south of County Road 622, in Butler County.

According to the report, Johnny R. Hagy, 43, of Wappapello was operating a northbound 1998 Ford pickup when it crossed the center line and struck a Tere concrete truck head on. The concrete truck, which was being operated by Bryan K. Trotter, 47, of Bloomfield, overturned.

Hagy suffered serious injuries and was flown to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis for treatment.

Trotter suffered moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Two area residents were injured in a three-vehicle crash at 11:50 a.m. July 6 on Highway 160, one mile east of Fairdealing.

According to the report, Billy E. Yates, 84, of Doniphan was operating a westbound 1997 Oldsmobile, which was slowing in traffic and was struck by a 1999 Ford Ranger.

The Ford Ranger, which was being operated by Maria D. Powell, 18, of Poplar Bluff, was struck in the rear by a

1999 GMC pickup being operated by James J. Gay, 41, of Naylor.

Powell and Yates suffered minor injuries and were taken by private vehicle to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Two Poplar Bluff residents were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 10:04 a.m. Friday, July 10, at the intersection of Highway 53 and Fair Street.

According to the report, Erica S. Villescas, 32, of the 700 block of South C Street was operating a 2005 Ford Escape eastbound on Highway 53, approaching the Fair Street intersection.

At the same time, Tisha A. Powell, 37, of the 2000 block of North Fifth Street was operating a 2017 Fiat westbound on Highway 53 in the turning lane, attempting to make a left turn onto Fair Street.

Powell’s vehicle allegedly failed to yield to Villescas’ SUV, which caused the SUV to strike her vehicle.

Villescas complained of chest pain, while her 8-year-old passenger, Michael S. Stonecipher of the 700 block of South C Street, complained his head was hurting. Both were taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.
