MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

Two Doniphan residents were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 1:41 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, on Highway 142, one mile west of Highway HH, in Butler County.

According to the report, Linda D. Howard, 54, was operating a 2014 Nissan Rogue eastbound when it travelled into the path of a westbound 2001 Dodge Durango and struck it head on.

Howard suffered minor injuries, while her 55-year-old passenger, George R. Howard, suffered moderate injuries. The Howards were taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The other driver, David E. Alt, 28, of Corning, Arkansas, was not injured in the crash.

Lawrence Wesley Heacock, 29, of the 700 block of Symphony was booked at the Butler County jail Wednesday, July 1, on a warrant for tampering with a motor vehicle.

Steven Jamaine Mays, 22, of the 4600 block of Township Line Road was booked at the Butler County jail Thursday, July 2, on a warrant for second-degree assault.

John Michael Salinas, 38, of Doniphan was booked at the Butler County jail Wednesday, July 1, on a warrant for third-degree assault and a failure to appear warrant for first-degree rape or attempted rape.

Melvin Gene Sandlin, 55, of the 3700 block of County Road 670 was booked at the Butler County jail Wednesday, July 1, on a failure to appear warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

Herbert E. Craft reported June 20 that windows were broken out of two buildings he owns in the 3900 block of Highway N at Qulin.

According to the report, the damage appeared to have been caused by a pellet gun. Two neon signs also were reportedly stolen.

POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT

Brandi Nichole Newman, 38, who listed Ellsinore and Poplar Bluff addresses, was arrested at 9:03 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, in the 1800 block of Broadway on seven Butler County warrants for failure to display plates, two counts of driving while revoked, two counts of no insurance, no valid license and stealing leased/rented property. She was booked at the Butler County jail.

Paul Edward Boyer, 53, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, in the 700 block of North Westwood Boulevard on a municipal failure to appear warrant for no insurance. He was booked at the Butler County jail.
