Firefighters responded at 12:09 a.m. Monday, June 29, to a report of an unauthorized burn at the 1050 Cole Ave. residence owned by Julius Hoghtower. Upon their arrival, firefighters found a large fire containing building materials and used 400 gallons of water to put out the fire.

Firefighters responded to a call at 10:36 p.m. Sunday, June 28, on South B Street of an unauthorized burn. Firefighters found two small, unattended fires in an empty lot and used 50 gallons of water to put them out.

Firefighters responded at 1:24 p.m. Sunday, June 28, to a report of an unauthorized burn at the 1901 Woodrow St. home owned by David Huskey. Upon their arrival, firefighters found a large fire in the back yard and used 100 gallons of water to put it out.

Firefighters responded at 5:39 p.m. Saturday, June 27, to a motor vehicle accident on North Westwood Boulevard. No extrication was needed, and firefighters stabilized the vehicles and assisted in traffic control and road cleanup.

They used 100 gallons of water to extinguish the fire and told the owner about the city’s burning ordinance.
