Butler County Health Department will reopen to the public Tuesday, with services offered by appointment only.
The department received negative COVID-19 tests for employees who had been exposed to individuals who tested positive, according to officials. The employees will be required to wear masks for the next 14 days.
"We're practicing what we preach," Administrator Emily Goodin said of the decision Monday to close to the public until test results were received.
The department asks the same of businesses in this situation, and needed to follow the procedure, she said.
"To keep ourselves and the community safe, this is what we have to do," she said.

Butler County Health Department has closed its doors to the public after its staff may have been exposed to COVID-19.
The doors will remain closed until testing results are back, according to health department officials. Information concerning how long that will take, or how many employees are being tested was not available.
An announcement released Monday morning did not include additional information about the possible exposure.
The health department will continue to provide two services through curbside, WIC and COVID-19 testing.
“At all times, the employees will be in Protective Personal equipment,” according to the announcement.
These are the only services that will be provided until testing results are back, according to the health department.
The health department said the public can call 573-785-8478 with other needs.
