Reggie Shawn Hopwood, 58, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 7, 2020, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

He was born Nov. 8, 1961, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to Margaret (Slayton) Hopwood and the late Glen “Hop” Hopwood.

Reggie grew up in Malden, Missouri, and attended Malden High School. He then went on to the University of Missouri, where he graduated in 1983. Reggie was a pilot for over 40 years, owned and operated River City Aviation, and operated a farm and ranch near Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Reggie was an amazing husband, brother, father and “Pop.” He loved life, and everyone in it.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Brad and father, Glen “Hop.”

He leaves behind his wife of 32 years Kandi (Demaree) Hopwood of Marion, Arkansas; his mother, Margaret of Marion, Arkansas; his brother, Rance (Gail) Hopwood of Vienna, Virginia; his son, Nick Hopwood of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; his daughter, Tori (Wes) Fraley of Marion, Arkansas, and granddaughters, Emma and Harper of Marion, Arkansas.

A Celebration of Life for Reggie will be held at Westwood Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, on June 20, 2020, at 2 p.m. Masks and hand sanitizer are encouraged.
