The Agee Community Club ladies met at Dexter BQ on May 13. Hostess this month was Nadine Johnson. Club president Cathy Womack called the meeting to order. Invocation was offered by Jeanie Figgins. Devotional was from Philippians 4:9 “Stand Fast,” read by Womack. Secretary and treasurer reports were read by Figgins, there was no old or new news. Figgins will be hostess for June. The ladies answered roll call with their memories of the month of May. A poem was read from belated honorary club member Orel Smith that is titled, “springtime Blooms” read by Orton.
The hostess gave out clippings from the Journal Banner: “Be Bear Aware,” Missouri Department of Conservation; cold and hot water sound different when they are being poured, because heat changes the viscosity of the water; the middle fingernail grows the fastest.
Handouts: Where to buy photo refills for photo unique photo albums; copies of the Black River Times; recipes for making Philly Mini Cheesecakes; Why didn’t I think of that?; an ounce of peroxide is worth a pound of cure.
Magazines were exchanged by the ladies.
Black River Times had several articles that were read by the ladies. The one read by Johnson about Flanders Field, was highly interesting and taught some of the history the club did not know
Bingo was played for the door prize and won by Womack.
The ladies dismissed with the club collect, “Be Still and Know that I am God,” Psalm 46:10.
