CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Saint Francis Healthcare System announces Stephanie La Pierre, MBA, BSN, RN, CSSBB (ASQ), CPHQ, has been appointed to the newly combined role of chief nursing-clinical officer.

La Pierre has served the health care system as chief performance improvement officer since 2015, according to a press release from Saint Francis. Her knowledge and expertise have led to best-in-class outcomes for quality and safety, officials said.

In her new role, La Pierre is responsible for the standards of patient care and nursing practice and performance improvement throughout the health care system. She provides administrative management over surgical services, maternal child health and medical/surgical services, critical care services, emergency and trauma services, quality and performance improvement, pharmacy services and training and development.

La Pierre has more than 20 years of combined nursing and executive-level experience. As a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, she also leads projects to advance patient care.

As a lieutenant colonel in the United States Air Force, La Pierre has served the country for nearly 24 years.
