DEXTER — Douglas Sutter, formerly of Puxico, passed away at his home in Erie, Pennsylvania, on Friday, April 10, 2020, at the age of 60 years and 11 months.
He was born in Poplar Bluff on April 18, 1959, to Alton and Carrie Sutter of Puxico.
Doug grew up in Puxico and graduated from the Puxico High School in 1977. He attended Southeast Missouri State University before transferring to the University of Missouri-Rolla (Missouri School of Science and Technology), where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree in 1982.
After graduation, he worked for McDonald Douglas in St. Louis. While in St. Louis, Doug completed his master’s degree at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Doug was then employed by FMC Technology in Erie until his retirement in 2015.
Doug is survived by his wife, Colleen, and daughter, Nicole, both of Erie; his brother, Stephen Sutter (Gail) in Puxico; niece, Stacy Welch of Sullivan, Missouri; two stepsons and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and Thomas W. Sutter, nephew.
Interment took place at Lakeside Cemetery in Erie.
